Directions of research work of the department:
“Introduction of technology of drying fuel briquettes from straw using air recirculation”. (Head: Associate Professor Semirnenko SL).
Stage 1: Analysis of existing straw utilization technology for energy use. The results of the stage: advantages and disadvantages of existing technologies.
Stage 2: Development of a methodology of pilot-industrial testing of briquette production.
The results of the stage: introduction of the developed technology of production of fuel briquettes from straw into production.
Scientific novelty and significance of the results obtained:
– for the first time drying of fuel briquettes from biomass of high humidity (with bringing it to the optimum) due to its own heat and air circulation is offered;
– The use of advanced technology of drying of fuel briquettes from straw with the purpose of reduction of ecological load has been further developed.
Based on the results of the research, a technology for the utilization of straw biomass without prior drying of straw was developed. The use of this technology provides simplification of the technological process of manufacturing fuel briquettes, reducing energy costs and providing man-made load when burning the briquettes from straw biomass.
