Scientific work of the department of agricultural engineering

The Department of Tractors, Agricultural Machines and Transportation Technologies was established in 1986 through the reformation of the Department of Tractors and Automobiles and the Department of Agricultural Machines and MTF.

Provides training for mechanical engineers in agricultural production.

The department has a unit “Training Park”, where under the license students master the following professions:

– driver of category “B”;

– Category A tractor driver.

Scientific researches on the mechanical and technological properties of agricultural materials are being carried out in order to create new and improve the existing working bodies of agricultural machines and to study the working bodies of beet harvesting machines.

The department manages production practice, coursework and diploma projects, as well as master’s work.

Students take internships in Chernihiv, Poltava, Sumy oblasts, farms in the UK, Poland, Germany, Austria. In practice, they master the skills of working on foreign agricultural machines, and study the methodology of doing business in other countries.

At the department the postgraduate course on a specialty 05.05.11 “Mechanization of agricultural production” is opened, postgraduate students and applicants are employees.

Educational work with students in the afternoons is conducted by the curators of academic groups from among the teachers of the department.

The graduates work in the Sumy region agro-industrial complex, research organizations, road-transport organizations, industrial enterprises, the system of Internal Affairs, and in other bodies of national economy and in bodies of executive and legislative power.
