Educational and Methodological Office of Occupational Safety

The Educational and Methodological Office of Occupational Safety is located in rooms No. 306m (dedicated to organizational and legal aspects of occupational safety) and No. 308m (used for the assessment of working conditions) of the Engineering and Technological Faculty at Sumy National Agrarian University (SNAU).
History of Establishment
The Educational and Methodological Office of Occupational Safety has a long-standing history and was established simultaneously with the Engineering and Technological Faculty. The office is designed for conducting laboratory-practical classes and seminars, and for providing organizational and informational support for the teaching and learning of disciplines offered by the department. It also plays a role in promoting the importance of occupational safety among faculty, students, officials, specialists, and business entities of the Sumy region. The office is involved in disseminating best practices for safe and non-hazardous working conditions, as well as accident and occupational disease prevention, in accordance with educational and professional program requirements and the regulations governing the organization of the educational process in higher education institutions.
Main Focus

Training professionals in occupational safety, fire safety, and technical environmental protection systems.

Developing knowledge and skills in safety engineering, occupational safety management systems, and methods/tools for ensuring optimal production conditions in accordance with current legislation.

Improving systems for scientific forecasting of production conditions, hazardous situations, and unsafe personnel actions; assessing accident risks; analyzing occupational injury data and the economic consequences of emergencies.

Conducting scientific research, developing and implementing organizational, material-technical, and sanitary-hygienic occupational safety measures in compliance with ergonomic and environmental requirements.

These classes are held for students of both full-time and part-time programs pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees across all specialties.
The material and technical base of the Educational and Methodological Office also serves as a training platform for vocational qualifications in cooperation with the SNAU Training and Practical Center, and supports students in writing the occupational safety sections of their qualification papers for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
