The SNAU welcomed participants in a study tour for young scientists within the Czech project
November 19, 2019 8 young scientists from Ukraine and 2 representatives of the Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague visited the Sumy National Agrarian University in the framework of a study tour, which takes place on November 17-21, within the framework of the joint Czech project “Supporting the Capacity of Young University Employees in the Field and research in Ukraine. ” It is planned that the participants will visit the scientific infrastructure and meet with colleagues from Sumy National Agrarian University, Sumy State University and Bilotserkiv National Agrarian University. On November 21, participants will be able to participate in an international conference at the BNAU.
The purpose of the tour is to exchange existing quality assurance and research practices, their challenges and challenges for the future, mutual discussions in an informal environment, with a view to deepening collaboration, as well as to discuss the development of scientific skills, inter-university collaboration between young scientists and their teams. Separate sessions of the tour will address the issues of improving the research competencies of participants, including scientific writing, publication of scientific papers, introduction to Mendeley and ResearchGate, use of scientific sources and metrics, scientific groups, student participation in research. The working language of the event is English, as a result participants will receive a certificate of participation in international study trips. Moving, living and eating expenses are covered by the project.
On November 19, the tour participants met with representatives of the quality assurance system for education, innovation and start-ups, as well as visited the Center for Precision Agriculture, Laboratory of Sowing Machines, Laboratory of Livestock Mechanization, Laboratory of Food Quality, Laboratory of Sausage Production Technologies, and Research and Agricultural Research Institute technologies and environmental management (fields, gardens, greenhouses, laboratories). Participants from partner universities received ginkgo seedlings from the university.
The events are part of a joint project of the Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague and SSU, SNAU and BNAU with the financial support of the Czech Development Agency. The project is entitled “Supporting the Capacity of Young University Employees in the Field of Education and Research in Ukraine”. The project co-ordinator on the Ukrainian side is Oksana Zamora, associate professor of the Department of International Economic Relations at the UABS Sumy State University.
