Championship in the debate
On the eve of Student Day, at the #SNAU Student`s Week, a number of events took place at our university. One such was the Inter-Faculty Debate Tournament. All 8 faculties took part, divided into 4 teams, and they discussed topics of different nature: from the urgency of entering the land market in Ukraine to the need for shelters for homeless animals.
As an opponent for our team from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, became the team of the Faculty of Food Technology. The topic of discussion was the issue of permitting the use of genetically modified products (GMOs) in the production of foodstuffs for the general public and animals, and what are the guarantees of food security.
The fight was fierce! Each faculty sought victory and, with its legislative base, argued for and against, sought to achieve it. The panel of judges noted that during the existence of such a competition in Sumy NAU it was a demonstration tournament in which mutual respect, teamwork and reasoning of their position prevailed.
The commission also selected the winning team, highlighting their erudition and awareness of the topic. It became a team from our faculty, which included: Natalich Bogdan, Budakova Anna and Yurchenko Alexander.
Upon completion, the most active participants in the debate were honored and prizes were awarded.
