Scientific tasks of the department:
- improving the systems of scientific forecasting of production conditions, dangerous situations and dangerous actions of personnel, determining the risk of accidents, analysis of industrial injuries and the economic consequences of emergency situations;
- conducting scientific research, developing and introducing into production organizational, material, technical and sanitary-hygienic measures for Occupational Health and Safety, taking into account ergonomic and environmental requirements;
- development and implementation of energy-saving, environmental and energy-efficient technologies;
- study of issues related to the features of teaching physics for students of non-physical specialties.
Directions of the research work of the department:
- Development of energy-saving, environmental and thermodynamically energy-efficient technology for drying grain crops.

In recent years, teachers of the department have published more than 60 articles in professional publications; 31 articles in Scopus; 6 articles in Web of Science. Received 10 patents and copyright certificates; 4 monographs published.
Teachers are actively working on preparing students for participation in the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the regulatory discipline “Fundamentals of Occupational Health and Safety” and submitting student research papers to the competition.
The department participates in the organization of scientific seminars in the framework of the project “Support in Harmonization of Introduction of Bologna Principles at Ukrainian Agri-Universities, case study SNAU” on the basis of the university.
The department has student’s research groups:

Administrative and legal regulation of Occupational Health and Safety in the field of agribusiness.
